We caught up with Windmill FC ahead of their cup final game against Monkton FC to get a statement from them about their season and thoughts on the final.
THIS IS WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY: First of all, we would like to thank the teams sponsor Josh Twyman (For The Love of Football Podcast), for his support this season. Also, to Scarlet and Steve (Windmill Pub) for their continued support and excellent hospitality that they provide to us (mainly Scarlet).
This season marks our 10th season as a team, so I feel like it’s only fitting that it’s remembered with a cup final up at Southwood. Despite a slow start to the season, the boys have really come together as a team and it’s shown with a string of impressive performances, especially in 2024.
Performances which have led us to this cup final and 2 wins away from securing the league title. Thank you to everyone who have come out to support the lads today, hopefully we can put on a good display and come back to the Windmill with the trophy. However, we know today’s game won’t be an easy one against a strong Monkton side but it’s one we are confident in.
