Bank Holiday Football Bonanza

What a bank holiday of football we’ve had with Thanet teams Margate FC & Ramsgate FC both playing two games that had their fair share of excitement!

Ramsgate definitely took the spoils this bank holiday with two emphatic wins over Deal Town & Sittingbourne, but they didn’t come easy. Both games saw Ramsgate come from behind to show determination to obtain the victories and take 6 points. The team scoring 8 goals in two games and securing second spot after the bank holiday games certainly shows their intentions for the season and the mental strength of the team to come back in both games to blow their opponents away.

Margate had a tough bank holiday schedule as they was only able to take two points, they came up against a strong Ashford United team away from home and saw themselves 2-0. They fought back in the dying minutes to obtain a draw but the team looked disappointed with the result as they want to be fighting for the title. The game against Herne Bay at home wasn’t any better for the gate as they struggled to find the back of the net even though their build up play was brilliant. They found the back of the net in the second half, only for it to be ruled out by a foul committed in the build up play. The gate showed dominance throughout the game and deserved the win but they look on to their next fixture with optimism.
